Shah Rukh Khan – The Real Angry Man in Bollywood

Is there more to the story than what is being reported in the media, or is it a simple case of a stress-fuelled midlife crisis that has finally snapped Khan into picking fights with friends?

Shahrukh Khan may have many a time played the bad guy in the movies but in real life is always loved and adored by one and all. In the recent past though Shahrukh has been in the news more for his controversial fights than anything else. It looks like Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘brawl days’ are still not over. A few months after his infamous fight with Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder, the star finds him in the midst of yet another controversy and this time it involves the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With the original bad boy of Bollywood, Salman Khan, having tamed his wayward ways of late, it seems that King Khan is eager to fill that throne, irrespective of how many punches he needs to throw to get there.

Bollywood King Khan’s ‘wankhede brawl & ban’ has comes very soon after the lucrative T-20 tournament was rocked by a sting operation conducted by a TV news channel, in which five IPL players were purportedly caught on camera indulging in spot-fixing and other “murky deals.” The actor has been caught in controversy at the Wankhede before when he was seen smoking much to the disapproval of many.

In the past five years, the award-winning actor has slowly but surely managed to alienate himself from several members of the Indian film fraternity with a spate of brawls in his wake, while his own personal life has come under scrutiny with rumour mills churning that all is not blissful in the marital bond between Khan and wife Gauri.

SRK has never spared anyone close to him, so to say. It may be her partner friend Juhi Chawla, Aamir Khan, Shirish Kunder, Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal, Farah Khan, Amar Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and of all his onetime ‘chuddy buddy’ Salman Khan !!

For those who can’t recall, the brawl between the two superstars erupted nearly three years ago at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash, where the verbal sparring almost headed towards fisticuffs before Aamir Khan intervened and broke them apart.  The war still continues, with Salman saying at Mukesh Ambani’s party for Sachin Tendulkar’s 100th 100: “Sachin kaa record todnaa mushkil hi nahi naamumkin hein. Aur yeh Don nahi main bol rahaa hun (No one can break Sachin’s record; and it’s not Don, but me saying this).”

One-time best buddies, Khan and Arjun Rampal were inseparable – even spending New Year’s Eve together in Dubai – but all went sour post “Ra.One” and the rift is for all to see. The rift was also over an argument the Rampals had with Khan, defending Gauri when the actor’s ‘close relationship’ with co-star Priyanka Chopra came under scrutiny. Khan wasn’t impressed with the intrusion and Mrs Rampal made it clear whose side she was on.

Earlier in 2012, the superstar actor’s professional & personal frustration finally culminated in the ‘slap-gate’ affair, which saw him allegedly assault former friend and filmmaker Shirish Kunder, husband of Farah Khan, also a close family friend of SRKs. Relations soured between the three when SRK rejected “Tees Maar Khan”, Kunder’s directorial venture.

Khan’s status as a faithful husband was never brought into question. Not until people started to whisper a certain name: Priyanka Chopra. It was widely gossiped that Khan’s co-star in several films, PC and him apparently started to get cozy during the shoot of “Don 2”. But those whispers became talk when stories filtered out that Gauri refused to let Priyanka into her house for the film’s wrap up party. Bollywood pundits say, ‘all is not well in the Khan household. Both SRK & Gauri has not been snapped together since quite a while”

Is there more to the story than what is being reported in the media, or is it a simple case of a stress-fuelled midlife crisis that has finally snapped Khan into picking fights with friends? Could that have given rise to the anger and frustration that led to yet another ‘slap-gate’ incident at Wankhede Stadium? He only can tell.

IPL cheer-girls are teachers, gymnasts & acrobats, not strippers!!!

Angela Carson a Californian, the media spokesperson for the Karnataka Premier League writes in her article The naked truth about the Indian Premier League cheerleaders in her blog: Angela’s Adventures in Bangalore

The writer (centre) with the RCB White Mischief cheerleaders (from left) Kaylé Koegelenberg, Melissa Burke, Daniella De Silva and Nadine Theron.

These girls are smart, have huge hearts, warm personalities, volunteer their time to charity and can dance your socks off!

No one likes to be falsely labeled or judged. Sadly, I did it before I heard how ridiculous I must have sounded when I heard my buddy make his outlandish claims about women he’s never met. Thank goodness my “fight for the underdog” and “women’s equality” gene kicked in because if not I would have never spent a fun afternoon with Melissa, Nadine, Kaylé and Daniella – who for me were ambassadors for all of the white cheerleaders in India. These girls adore India, respect and are friends with the players and their wives and girlfriends, have a good head on their shoulders and dance their hearts out cheering for our one common goal – an IPL victory!

….Here in India, although the girls do have official public relations obligations, one thing that touched me the most about them was the activities that they schedule into their own free time, away from the cameras and the limelight. In Kolkata they spent time at Mother Teresa’s Mother House charity where they all felt in awe of the impact she’s had on the world.  They also visited and donated their own time to an orphanage, which they all said left a lasting impression on them and has touched them more than any other experience to date in India.

Melissa Burke (26) team captain. … After high school, Melissa went on to university to study psychology and organisational psychology and next year plans to return to complete her honours and start a career in child psychology because of her passion for helping the young. …She water skis, wake boards and last year took a course in meditation, which she continues to practice here in India .

Nadine Theron (youngest of RCB cheerleaders)…At the age of four she started acrobatics training and is the only member of the RCB cheer team who does acrobatics, including front and back flips, to pump up the crowd at matches. Nadine holds her associate teachers certificate to teaches acrobatics to children.

Kaylé Koegelenberg is 22, from Windhoek, Namibia…the town where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pritt’s daughter was born…. She’s been dancing since the age of five and has played so many sports – including hockey – that I couldn’t write them all down!

Daniella De Silva(21) AKA Danimal, is the team joker. She started taking gymnastics classes at five and then modern dance classes at six, which she continued along with hip hop through high school.  ….. she will stay back in India and move to Mumbai after IPL is done. She hopes to make it big in Bollywood one day and work alongside Shahrukh Khan. In Hindi, she’s learned to count up to 23 so far, and is picking up the language quite quickly with a zealous and fun passion for pronunciation!

Back home most of the girls are involved in at least one, if not more, charity organisations. Melissa helps build new schools and improve the infrastructure in townships (slums) and hopes to work with premature babies as a kangaroo therapist.  Kaylé believes in giving her time, not money, and donates her time to underprivileged children’s homes. She’s now going through orientation and background checks in order to spend more time with those kids teaching them to play hockey, although she admits that struggling to generate funds to buy one hockey stick for each kid is a challenge.

Dilip Kumar’s life under threat, but from whom & for what??Nobody has answer !!!

Talking of security , if there’s anybody who still wants a glimpse of 89-year-old Dilip Kumar, the man can be spotted every evening in full white, taking his customary walk at Joggers’ Park in Bandra which is kept open for him after the rest of the public has left. Dilip Kumar arrives in his Merc with a police jeep as escort. Is Dilip Kumar’s life in danger? Isn’t security to be given only when there continues to be a threat to one’s life? Makes one wonder if the tax payer should really be made to shell out because someone achieves fame and fans have to be kept at arm’s length.

In fact, he was given security after receiving “threatening” call  for not demanding anything but just as a strange act of insanity by “anonymous” person !!!. Not only that, his decade-old beefed security was been beefed up for thespian Dilip Kumar after he received threatening telephone calls, again.

The then, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Ranjit Singh Sharma had confirmed that he had been provided high security. However, the police has not acted on a complaint filed by Dilip Kumar.

Dilip Kumar was quoted as saying that he has been receiving anonymous calls, but that the callers were not demanding money. He described it as strange act of insanity.

The Union home ministry has informed the state government about the threat to the veteran actor with instructions to step up security for him.
